I don’t have a name-dropping, biz-centric story about this screenplay. I just kind of liked it.
It’s the story of a boy with weight issues who gets trapped in a virtual reality suit and whose only way out is to win the game inside.
This was yet another spec screenplay that failed to get me an agent and rescue me from the copywriting mines. Though I had never read or seen Death Of A Salesman, I was feeling like Willy Loman after 10 plus years of writing spec screenplays and getting nowhere.
When TV promo work eventually led to TV show work, I finally got an agent. His agency promptly made a copy of this screenplay and slapped their cover on it, indicating that it had some value.
I’m not sure it did. But it doesn’t entirely suck.
